Altenew Celebrating Parents Card Drive Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi Crafty Friends! You should have arrived here from Terri Koszler page. What an inspiration-packed blog hop that Altenew is spearheading and for such a wonderful cause. Our goal is to send cards for the elderly that live in nursing homes or shelters to let them know they’re not forgotten. Please check out the Celebrating Parents Card Drive and join this great cause by sending in your own card creations.
Here are mine:
Card 1
For my first card I paired Baroque Motifs with Simple Beauty. I first layed out the bottom flourish on my panel, it looked like it was made to hold a pretty floral bloom :). After I stamped and die cut the main flower from the Simple Beauty set I used it to figure out my placement for the smaller flowers; stamped those and filled in parts of the small flowers with my Buttercream Artist Marker. I then added the smaller flourish to the top and finally popped up the largest flower on foam tape. I then added the MOM” using the Fine Alphabet Dies on glitter cardstocks. As a final touch I added iridescent jewels for the flower centers. Finished card size is 5x7 inches. Inks used: (Summer AfternoonPocketful of Sunshine, Lapis Lazuli, Rock Collection)
Card 2
For this card I again used Simple Beauty stamp/die set along with the Versatile Vases stamp set. To start I stamped and die cut the beautiful layered floral image from Simple Beauty, the layers in this set are very easy to align. I then stamped the vase and added the design using the flourish stamp in the Simple Beauty set, I fussy cut this image out. Once I figured out my placement I added more blooms to the background and left them uncolored. I adhered the vase flat to the card base, while the flower was popped up on foam tape. The sentiment comes from the vases stamp set. As a final touch I added small yellow gems to the flower centers. Finished card size is 5x7 inches. Inks used: Summer Afternoon, Enchanted Garden, Green Fields)
